Das Kompetenzzentrum Health Network Engineering (CC HNE) hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, als neutraler Partner die Transformation des Gesundheitswesens durch die Anwendung der Methoden und Modelle des St. Galler Business Engineering zu unterstützen. Die mit dem Business Engineering in unterschiedlichen Branchen gesammelten Erfahrungen sollen bei der Transformation des Gesundheitswesens nutzbar gemacht werden.
Das Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik lädt interessierte Leistungserbringer, Verbände, Versicherungen und Anbieter ein, sich an diesem Forschungsprojekt zu beteiligen. Dafür existiert eine grosse Bandbreite an Optionen - von Fallstudien/Projektarbeiten und Veranstaltungen über aktive Projektbegleitung bis zu gemeinschaftlicher Erarbeitung von Referenzlösungen, Standards und Prototypen.

The use of Business Intelligence (BI) is seen as possible solution to this actual challenge. As the constituent research about BI is primarily focussed on the industrial sector, it is the aim of this contribution to translate and amend the current findings for the health care context. For this purpose, different definitions of BI are examined and condensed in a framework. In this context, a core challenge is the patient identification in a heterogeneous system of diverse ICT solutions. This article presents first approaches how to solve problems arising from insufficient patient identification, both from a single actor's perspective as well as the health network perspective. In a first step, organisation internal as well as cross-organizational mechanisms for patient identification are presented. In a second step, systematic and integrated strategies are discussed. This paper concludes with an outlook on future research questions in this field. -

PublicationPost-Acceptance of Electronic Medical Records: Evidence from a longitudinal Field StudyMany studies investigating post-acceptance of electronic medical records (EMR) assume that healthcare professionals exclusively base their continuance behavior on reasoned actions. While rational considerations certainly affect the intention to use an EMR, it does not fully explain the definitive user continuance behavior. Evidence exists that also subliminal effects such as habits and emotions play an important role. Consequently, we propose to investigate post-acceptance of EMR applying three different, but complementary views: (i) continuance behavior as result of reasoned actions, (ii) continuance behavior as result of emotional responses, and (iii) continuance behavior as result of habitual responses. The results from a longitudinal field study showed that automatic behavior, enabled by sufficient facilitating conditions and a good task-technology-fit, as well as positive emotions considerably affected healthcare professionals EMR continuance behavior. It also showed that a user's computer literacy level didn't play a significant role regarding the post-acceptance behavior.Type: conference paper
