Abstract

Investor relations are a boundary-spanning corporate function aiming at ensuring the acceptance and cooperation of capital market participants through communication. With the emergence of social media, IR professionals are provided with new opportunities to manage the capital market reputation of their companies, but are also faced with new challenges and pitfalls. In this context, this paper presents a range of case studies identifying common trends, opportunities and challenges in managing capital market reputation management in a social media environment.
