The Institute for Systemic Management and Public Governance,
composed of four Research Centers (Tourism and Transport, Regional
Science, Public Management and Governance, Organization Studies)
changed its name as of January 1st, 2011.
After a restructuring in 1998, the institute replaced the former Institute for Tourism and Transportation Sciences, which was established in 1941, and was henceforth called Institute for Public Services and Tourism.
Being composed of four centers of competence, the Institute is capable of competently conducting projects at the interface of traditional academic disciplines. The main focus is laid on fields that have taken on greater significance in the context of globalization, decision-making of managers as regards the choice of location, management of public and private services.
The staff count is about 50 persons and is focusing on the following subject areas:
