Omid Aschari is Titular-Professor of Strategic Management at the Institute of Management, University of St.Gallen (HSG) and Managing Director of its globally respected flagship Master in Strategy and International Management (SIM-HSG). The program was ranked no.1 in 2011, 2012 and 2013 by the internationally renown Financial Times Master's in Management Ranking.
After undergraduate and graduate studies in Business Administration at the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Austria, he graduated with an M.B.A. (with distinction) from the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management, CA, U.S.A.. He received a Ph.D. in Management from the Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Austria (Supervisor: Prof.Dr.Dr.h.c.mult. Gerhard Reber). Parallel to his academic studies and professional practice, he also completed several certified training and coaching programs.
He teaches global leadership, strategy and corporate transformation at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels at the University of St.Gallen and other leading universities. His current research focuses on personal mastery and leader’s effectiveness. He continuously develops innovative teaching formats and program components to meet the educational needs of students and executives. Omid Aschari also frequently contributes to university development, e.g. with his expertise in management education for achieving top ranking results and securing accreditations (AACSB, EQUIS, OAQ), conceptualizing and developing new programs from scratch or leading and developing international key accounts in executive in-house education.
Omid Aschari is frequently quoted and interviewed by international media including Financial Times, The Independent or Le Monde. He makes contributions as speaker and panelist at conferences and other professional events. Since 2005 he periodically publishes the SIMpact magazine for an increasingly international audience. He is a reviewer for the International Journal of Strategic Management (LRP), the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Venturing.
Omid Aschari is Founder and Chairman of ASG Strategy Group AG, based in St.Gallen, that advises and develops leaders, teams, and organizations in success-critical key competencies. Prior to his appointment at the University of St.Gallen, he developed and transformed entrepreneurial ventures and gained a wide array of experiences as management consultant at a globally leading professional service firm. in In the past almost 20 years, he acquired professional experience in many countries and responsibilities as consultant, educator and coach for mid-sized companies to large corporates, for non-for-profit to business organizations.
