The ONE Project provides a customized approach for SME’s and their diverse and changing needs.
The business ecosystem paradigm and consequently Digital Business Ecosystems are a powerful emerging concept aimed at a better understanding of the behavior of organizations (species) within a specific context and their “competition” (a mix of competition and cooperation) and evolution within the ecosystem.
The ONE project intends to support this vision and, building on the idea of Digital Business Ecosystem, intends to provide organizations in the service industry (especially SMEs) with more sophisticated negotiations mechanisms, enriched by learning and optimization tools, that will allow a single organization to dynamically package and compose services from its own offering, and those provided by other SMEs into a larger, more complex service package.
This will help SMEs in extending their portfolio of services, thus increasing their ability to fulfill more complex customer demands.
The ONE project negotiation platform will be:
1. Open Source, compatible with the Digital Ecosystem Initiative and platform;
2. Distributed and De-centralized both from a technical (no single point of failure) and organizational (no “big brother” controlling the marketplace) point of view. The enabling technology will be based on the peer-to-peer approach;
3. Self-learning and adaptive to changes in the negotiation process and the business ecosystem environment.
