Fluctuation and retention factors of tourism professionals

fulltext etc. no fulltext attached
abstract The ability to attract sufficiently qualified staff is considered crucial for the (interna-tional) competitiveness of any tourism industry but in developed and rich countries it is very difficult to attract enough qualified people to the sector. Therefore, this paper analyse the fluctuation and retention that are theoretical challenged by work motivation theories. The conclusions are empirically evaluated at data based on the case of the Swiss tourism industry. The conclusions drawn contribute to a deeper understanding of motivational structures to help the industry and potential employers to deal with this situation by means of adapting job packages and leadership structure.
