Main focuses
Christian's area of research are in of organizational identity, internal communication, corporate social responsibility and new media. Over the course of the last year he for instance did empirical research projects in cooperation with Deutsche Telekom in the area of Organizational Culture and Innovation Management, with the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) on social media acceptance and with the German federal employment agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) on digital media literacy.
Teaching activities
Christian is senior lecturer in the university's bachelor and master programs, were he hold regular courses in corporate communication, management of media organizations, social media management, as well as communication theory and public relations. Furthermore, he lectures in regular assignments in the EMBA program of the University of St. Gallen, for the module on communications, in the Executive MBA program of the Technical University Munich for corporate social responsibility, and (together with Prof. Miriam Meckel) in a regular 3-day module program for ECCE Academy (Executive Corporate Communication Education) in cooperation with HEC, Paris, and IESE Business School, Barcelona.

Christian's research is in the areas of organizational identity, internal communication, corporate social responsibility and new media. Among others, over the course of the last year he had the privalage to conduct empirical research projects in cooperation with the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) on social media acceptance and with the Bundesagentur für Arbeit on New Media Literacy. As project leader for the University of St. Gallen’s Institute for Media and Communications Management he is also responsible for various consulting projects.

In the position of project leader for the University of St. Gallen’s Institute for Media and Communications Management, he is responsible for various consulting projects, during the last year among others for the Kempinski Hotels Group and T-Labs in the area of organizational identity and change communication, for the Migros Genossenschaftsbund (Switzerland’s largest retailer) in the area of social media management, as well as for tamedia, Shell and the German Soccer League (Deutsche Fussball Liga) in the field of new, digital media.
