Abstract
Communication is crucial for organizational functioning as a firm with all its stakeholders is a social system where real people interact. But we found only very limited research on the intersection of strategic management and communication. This paper proposes different ways of how to integrate communication and strategic management. We sketch those approaches for an industry perspective, a resource-based view and for strategy-as-practice. Researchers might use the text as initial point for studying communication in the context of a firm's strategy more exactly. Practitioners might use it to improve competitiveness through better communication management.
