Abstract (De)
The term Enterprise Architecture (EA) denotes the integrated view on the complex technical and business-related enterprise structures in order to enable their systematic management and development. Besides EA modeling, EA management involves the strategic design of architecture, development and maintenance of as-is and to-be models, transformation to and implementation of the to-be architecture as well as the analysis of EA. Whereas modeling, design, and maintenance of the EA are covered well by existing approaches in scientific and practitioners literature, EA planning, especially the transformation from as-is to to-be EA, still lacks systematic support. In this dissertation, a method for planning the transformation of EA based on architecture models is developed. This method explicitly considers dynamic aspects which occur during planning and need to be respected by the method as well as by the underlying models. Partial solutions of the cumulative dissertation are developed in five papers: First, fundamentals on the design of EA management, which incorporates EA planning, are described. Based on a literature analysis and industry cases, relevant dynamic aspects in the context of EA planning are derived and an initial EA planning process is presented. Afterwards, the method with the focus on planning the transformation of EA is developed. The method is complemented by a framework for the representation of dynamics and transformation in EA models.
