Abstract
Deliberate temporal organizing plays a crucial role in addressing grand challenges by structuring actions and strategies across time to tackle issues that evolve and intensify. The study examines how geopolitical and environmental challenges are addressed through governmental foresight reports. Concretely, the Government Report on the Future aims to shape the Finland of future generations and to strengthen Finland's preparedness for the future. Empirically, we are interested in how Members of Parliament (MPs) perceive the importance of such foresight work for their decision-making process. The present paper acts as a critical steppingstone for our ongoing research project. With the high interest and importance attributed to the foresight work done in the Finnish parliament, we recognize the possible implications to understand a highly relevant setting for futures work and temporal organizing.
