Abstract
Preface - Local vs. Global Issues in Electronic Commerce
Charles Steinfield, Michigan State University and Stefan Klein, University of MünsterThe Web is being heralded as a global marketplace causing the"death of distance" (The Economist). Beat F. Schmid, Dorian Selz, and Brigette Buchet, University of St.Gallen

In the second issue of the year 2001, we expect to revisit Asia to see what has changed. (Continued...)
