Portfolio of Business Relations: The Darmstadt Collaboration Diamond

This paper develops a tool to assess the rent-earning potential of re-lationships in order to enable both firms and suppliers/service providers to derive strategic actions. The "Darmstadt Collaboration Diamond" integrates the market-based, resource-based and relational-based view of strategy to derive the collaborative requirements and the collaborative competence within the relationship. On that basis we show examples for strategic actions with examples from supply chain management.
