Description
The aim of this research project is to advance scientific understanding of how leadership influences employees' psychological health in organizations. For this purpose, different aspects of the association between leadership and psychological health will be examined; amongst others, it will be investigated how (i.e., through which intervening processes) and when (dependent on which boundary conditions) different leadership styles relate to various aspects of employees' psychological well-being. Moreover, both antecedents (e.g., leaders' personality and self-leadership) and outcomes (e.g., indicators of organizational performance) of the link between leadership and employees' psychological health will be analyzed. The project is based on a quantitative-empirical research design using large-scale surveys in different organizations. Apart from its scientific contribution, the research project is intended to provide valuable insights for effective health-oriented leadership in practice.
