Abstract
Enterprises are influenced by their surroundings in many ways and must constantly adjust and adapt to economic, technological and social changes.
Within the enterprise, often quite different people work together in various functions, often with the help of machines, to produce a product (e.g., chocolate ) or offer a service (e.g., insurance). This results in numerous goal conflicts and interactions.
The St. Gallen Management Model helps in better managing such complex challenges in organisations. The model has been continuously developed at the intersection of teaching, training, research and business practice.
Based on the model, this textbook will prepare students at the upper secondary and tertiary levels for demanding professional and social tasks and functions. The textbook is also a guidance and decision aid for managers. It is designed for both classroom instruction and independent study.
