dc.description.abstractDeEingebettet in den internationalen und nationalen Rechtsrahmen führt dieses Handbuch die heimatschutzrelevanten Bestimmungen des Kantons St. Gallen zusammen. Es erhebt den Anspruch, schweizweit als Nachschlagewerk und Inspirationsquelle zu dienen. Auf die Einleitung folgen Ausführungen zum internationalen und nationalen Recht zum Schutz der Baudenkmäler sowie der archäologischen Denkmäler und Funde. Anschliessend werden die baurechtlichen Bestimmungen des Kantons St. Gallen mit einem heimatschutzrechtlichen Fokus kommentiert. Einzelaspekte des Heimatschutzes runden das Werk ab (Enteignung, Gemeindeautonomie, Gemeindeaufsicht,Subventionen, Welt[kultur]erbe).
