Description
The project will develop the scientific and technological basis for enabling a variety of products from different user domains to capture context information, adapt pro-actively and automatically to different environments and requirements, and to communicate with users and with other products via different interface modalities. Three industry pilots aim at developing new and innovative features for different stakeholders in different product lifecycle phases. A particular focus is given to exploiting sensor data that is captured in the usage phase of a product for improving either product design and manufacturing or maintenance, repair and dismantling processes.
The concepts will be evaluated in three industry pilots in the aerospace industry (EADS), the automotive industry (Fiat), and the home appliances industry (Philips).
