Abstract
The importance of IT-Shared Service Centers (IT-SSCs) as an approach to organizing corporate IT functions has increased significantly. As IT-SSCs are primarily operated by large international corporations to provide IT services to their employees, they face special requirements regarding internationalization. Despite the internationalization of IT-SSCs being a relevant topic, only little research has been conducted so far.
The main goals of this paper are to answer the following questions:
(1) Which motives exist for the internationalization of IT-SSCs?
(2) What is the current status regarding the internationalization of IT-SSCs?
