Description
This project will explore the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on research integrity in Canada, China, and Kazakhstan. Its aim is to understand how faculty, university staff, representatives of national funding bodies, academic societies, and journals deal with AI-related misconduct. By engaging in international collaboration and comparing data from three countries that are diverse in terms of technological advancement, research capacity, ethics regulations, democracy, and languages, this project will produce several results: (1) a position paper with key insights from the analysis and recommendations for the various stakeholders; (2) guidelines for developing training programs to educate faculty, students, and administrators on the responsible use of AI; (3) an online network of research and policy experts who specialize in the research integrity of AI-facilitated research.
