Was spricht gegen angewandte Ethik? Erläutert am Beispiel der Wirtschaftsethik

Dass Wirtschaftsethik als angewandte Ethik zu begreifen ist, wird gemeinhin als selbstverständlich vorausgesetzt. Konsequent zu Ende gedacht läuft das Anwendungskonzept jedoch auf die formale Selbstbehauptungslogik hinaus, wie sie durch Homo oeconomicus repräsentiert wird. Der Beitrag versucht das damit gegebene Defizit eines zumindest partiellen Ökonomismus des Anwendungskonzepts von "Ethik" sowohl im allgemeinen als auch für die Wirtschaftsethik im besonderen herauszuarbeiten. Als Alternative wird ein integratives Verständ-nis von Ethik bzw. Wirtschaftsethik als Reflexionsethik vorgeschlagen. Deren Aufgabe besteht in transzendentaler Kritik einerseits, Werterhellung andererseits. Summary The notion that business ethics, as any other specific ethics, is a so called applied ethics is widely shared across the community of (business) ethicists. However, taking the internal consistency of the notion seriously, an application of "ethics" comes down to advocating the formal rationality of homo oeconomicus. The purpose of the paper is to work out the at least partial economism of the notion of an "application of ethics", in general as well as with regard to business ethics. The alternative proposition is a reflective ethics called Integrative (Business) Ethics. Its task is a transcendental critique on the one hand, the illumination of values ("Werterhellung") on the other.
