Description
Militzer & Münch, the internationally operating transport logistics service provider, has launched a new programme to promote its future managers. For the "Talent Management Programme", 20 junior executives were chosen from Militzer & Münch country units all over the world. They all came to Istanbul in September to attend the start of the programme, a three-day seminar held in co-operation with the University of Sankt Gallen, Chair of Logistics Management.
Making a career in your own company? Among its own ranks, Militzer & Münch is looking for promising talents to prepare them systematically for managerial tasks. "Only with highly qualified junior staff will we be able to press ahead with the growth course that Militzer & Münch is pursuing", says Ewald Kaiser, CEO M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG. "With the Talent Management Programme, we want to systematically develop young, highly motivated employees and offer them chances for a long-term career within the Militzer & Münch network."
A campus atmosphere in Istanbul
In Istanbul, Ewald Kaiser gave the official starting signal for the programme. In the first training module, renowned scientists offered seminars and workshops on personnel management, on strategy, sales, and marketing, and on logistics controlling. Militzer & Münch managers contributed examples from their practical work. On the first day, the participants learned all about leadership from Professor Dr. Wolfgang Jenewein, Full Professor of Business Studies at the University of St. Gallen.
Day two centered on business-strategies - especially for logistics companies - under the guidance of Dr. Thorsten Klaas-Wissing, Vice-Director of the Chair for Logistics Management at the University of St. Gallen. The programme on day three focused first on marketing and sales with Professor Dr. Tobias Engelsleben, Dean of the Faculty Economy and Media at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences at Cologne, Hamburg, Munich and Idstein, before Dr. Thorsten Klaas-Wissing ended the first programme module with a lecture on logistics consulting.
Linking Theory and Practice
Another module running several days is planned during the twelve-month programme: It will cover products and processes, and their effective execution. Team building and outdoor events are also scheduled, as are international workshops on case studies from the work fields of Militzer & Münch. Thus, with theory and practice closely linked together, the participants will develop their abilities and competences in preparation for their new tasks.
