Description
The adoption of information technology in healthcare raises high expectations. However, many projects trying to implement "e-health" fail or are in the path to failure. In order to assist policy makers and "e-health implementers" in the crucial but difficult technology adoption process,as well as ultimately reducing private and public spending on unsuccessful e-health initiatives, it is the aim of the proposed research collaboration to investigate the major drivers of success/failure and define guidelines that help to prevent common, thus avoidable, problems that occur before, during, and after the implementation of e-health. By using a trans-disciplinary and trans-national approach, this collaborative research is expected to provide broader insights into the setup and conduct of national and transnational e-health projects, as well as build a bridge between different disciplines researching the field of e-health.
