Abstract
Most justice theorists are exclusively concerned with how moral problems can be solved. Thereby, they overlook, so the essay at hand argues, that determining the existence of a normative problem is, from a conceptual perspective, far from trivial and should, hence, be among the major issues justice theorists concern themselves with. Based on this observation, two strategies are sketched as well as explained that - from the perspective of a pragmatist theory of justice - can be resorted to in order to discover and to formulate problems of justice that actually exist in society. The essay, furthermore, indicates a limitation that both of these strategies entail and hints at how the pragmatist theory intends to deal with this limitation.
