Artificial Intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming a ubiquitous part of our everyday lives and is transforming the way we live and work. AI is distinct from technologies in that it learns autonomously based on the data provided. The autonomous quality and ability to perform tasks that previously required human intelligence present a new set of trust challenges to the public, organizations, and employees. This panel and roundtable discussion session respond to a growing need in the field to develop an understanding of trust in the context of AI. We bring together six international scholars to offer new conceptual developments and empirical insights on the nature and dynamics of trust interfacing AI. In the first part of the session, our five panelists with the moderator will share their research and insights on AI and trust. In the second part of the session, there will be roundtable discussions between the panelists and session participants to encourage and facilitate dialogues among trust researchers on this important topic. At the end of the session, insights and ideas from the discussion will be summarized and shared across the roundtables.
