Abstract (De)
• Aviation is a system and depends on all system members to become green for a successful transition to environmental sustainability
• When it comes to reducing their own Scope One and Two footprint, airports have mature measures at their disposal that have already resulted in notable successes
• Furthermore, airports are also uniquely positioned to assist the other system members on their path to environmental sustainability using 11 distinct levers to build comprehensive measures adapted to the airport’s own unique context
• In doing so, airports have a direct and indirect influence on aviation’s environmental sustainability and benefit from the extended utilization rate of their assets, cost savings, reduced damages from natural disasters as well as improved public perception
