Anyone who thinks that human capital doesn’t have to be cultivated and that in the near future, machines will do all the work anyway, need not read on. For everyone else, the following applies: as long as human beings constitute a significant part of the value creation chain, companies should reflect on how this resource can be put to optimal use. In this context, it can’t do any harm to consider who these employees actually are and what spurs them on to peak performance.
