Abstract
The aim of this article is to reflect critically on digital strategies at universities and to consider the urgency of the social question in this context. At the University of St. Gallen (HSG), the reformulation of a digital strategy and the integration oftransversal concepts in the critical phase of enrolment have made an attempt to strengthen the necessary perception of coherence in the introductory phase of studies. In this context, the digital transformation appears to promise the elimination of various forms of social and material exclusion. The article therefore attempts to create an awareness of the problem of the ambivalence of social inequality and digital transformation by taking a sideways look at the reorganisation at the HSG.

Zieel des Beitrages ist es, kritisch über digitale Strategien an Hochschulen zu reflektieren und die Dringlichkeit der sozialen Frage hierbei mitzudenken. An der Universität St. Gallen (HSG) konnte mit der Neuformulierung einer Digitalstrategie und der Einbindungtransversaler Konzepte in der kritischen Phase der Studienaufnahme ein Versuch gewagt werden, die notwendige Kohärenzwahrnehmung in dieser zu stärken. Dabei scheint die digitale Transformation ein Versprechen auf Behebung von unterschiedlichen Formen der sozialen und materiellen Ausschließung zu sein. Der Beitrag versucht daher durch einen Seitenblick auf die Umgestaltungen an der HSG ein Problembewusstsein hinsichtlich Ambivalenz von sozialerUngleichheit und digitaler Transformation zu schaffen.
