Abstract
Firmly grounded in expectancy theory of motivation, PGT is a situational leadership theory that incorporates leader behavior, follower characteristics, and situational variables to better understand how leaders can influence follower motivation and thus, expectations and behavior. Effective leaders carefully assess the situation and choose an appropriate leadership style to assist followers in defining and efficiently reaching personal and organisational goals.
