Abstract
This essay views existing botanical classification systems to be the result of design. The contribution, published in the catalogue of Vitra's exhibition "Garden Futures", poses the question: if we reframe conventional–perhaps outdated–perspectives on the plant world, could this help us reconsider our relationship with the natural world?
