How Mentoring Students with Disabilities Shapes Leaders' Inclusivity at Work

Abstract
Despite the societal and economic importance of disability, entrepreneurship research is at a very nascent stage. However, other closely related fields investigating disability and DEI in established organisations have already accumulated important insights into individuals with disabilities and strategies to facilitate their better inclusion in society and work life. Learning from these more advanced fields is crucial, as it allows entrepreneurship research to benefit from established frameworks and findings while contributing unique insights on innovation, self-employment, and resource constraints. At the same time, DEI and organizational inclusion fields can learn from entrepreneurship research, particularly in understanding how resource constraints and innovative approaches shape the experiences and outcomes of individuals with disabilities. To prevent the fields from growing in silos, we bring together researchers from entrepreneurship, organizational inclusion, and DEI to present ongoing research, foster collaboration, and discuss how the fields can mutually learn from each other to advance a more inclusive understanding of disability.
