Abstract
This special issue presents full length versions of the best papers presented at the 1998 AIS Americas Conference on Information Systems. Strader, Iowa State University, USA<br><br>Internet privatization and commercialization is generally recognized as beginning in 1991 (Kalakota and Whinston, 1996). To some this was the birth of electronic commerce (e-commerce). Others consider e-commerce to be as old as electronic data interchange (EDI). These are the two most generally recognized distinctions - business-to-consumer and business-to-business (Lincke, 1998).
