Abstract
Fostered by the rapid development of information technology, the production of information and knowledge has increased dramatically. The developments as seen on the Internet pose serious challenges for the management and organization of knowledge bases and aggravate the problems of: (1) finding the right information at the right time; (2) giving evidence of the quality of the information found; (3) ensuring the integrity of the information found. We name these problems the RRR standards - retrieval, rating and reliability - of information and investigate the question: How to establish RRR standards on the Internet? With the NetAcademy project, a new concept for online publishing and knowledge management, we aim at providing a successful example and leadership in the question of RRR standards on the Internet.
