Das Jahr 2009 war - aus theologischer Sicht - geprägt vom 500. Geburtstag von Johannes Calvin. Auch das St. Galler Universitätspfarramt hat sich intensiv mit dem Genfer Reformator befasst und seine inspi-rierende und herausfordernde Theologie bei mehreren Veranstaltungen präsentiert und zur Diskussion gestellt. So u.a. in Kooperation mit der Industrie- und Handelskammer St. Gallen-Appenzell und der Eglise Française de Saint-Gall im Rahmen einer zweiteiligen Reihe mit dem Titel "Glaube und Erfolg. Johannes Calvin und die Wirtschaft". Auf Grund der äusserst grossen und positiven Resonanz entschlos-sen sich die Organisatoren zur Publikation der Beiträge. Mit der Broschüre verbunden ist die Hoffnung, dass das Gespräch mit und über Calvin, zwischen Theologie und Wirtschaft und nicht zuletzt zwischen deutsch- und französischsprachiger Schweiz auch 2010 und darüber hinaus eine fruchtbare Fortsetzung finde.
The year 2009 was marked by the 500th anniversary of the birth of John Calvin. At many occasions the university chaplaincy of St. Gallen presented Calvin's inspiring and challenging theology. One of the highlights was a conference series which was organized together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the French Protestant Church of St. Gallen, and the success of these conferences was overw-helming. Thus the organizers decided to publish a collection of the contributions. It is our hope that the dialogues of 2009 may be continued in 2010 and the following years: our dialogue with Calvin and his thinking, the dialogue between economy and theology and - last but not least - the dialogue between German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland.
