Abstract
The effectiveness and efficiency of information systems are closely related to the degree of integration between applications. Particularly in large companies with heterogeneous information systems architecture, integration management is instrumental in achieving information management goals like IT business alignment and information systems agility. This chapter presents a concept for managing information systems agility. Based on a discussion of agility in the context of information management in the first part of the chapter, five indicators are proposed that allow to manage information systems agility using appropriate performance measures in the second part of the chapter. In the third part of the chapter, methodology components for the incremental redesign of the information systems architecture towards enhanced agility are presented.
